Grammar Rules & Patterns
The 'Nosotros' Verb Ending: -amos
Nosotros/Nosotras + Verb Stem + -amos
When 'we' (nosotros or nosotras) are doing the action, the -AR verb will always end in '-amos'. Take off the -AR and add -amos.
The 'Ustedes/Ellos/Ellas' Verb Ending: -an
Ustedes/Ellos/Ellas + Verb Stem + -an
When 'you all' (ustedes) or 'they' (ellos/ellas) are doing the action, the -AR verb will always end in '-an'. Take off the -AR and add -an.
The Mixed Group Rule
1 boy + any number of girls = 'ellos'
Even if there are 10 girls and only 1 boy in a group, you must use the pronoun 'ellos' to talk about them. You only use 'ellas' if the group is 100% girls.
