Verb Endings for -AR Verbs
Nosotros -> -amos. Ustedes / Ellos / Ellas -> -an.
To talk about what a group does, take an -AR verb (like cantar), remove the -AR, and add the correct new ending. 'Nosotros cantamos' (We sing). 'Ellos cantan' (They sing).
The 'I am in the group' Rule
If 'yo' (I) is part of the group, the pronoun is always 'nosotros' or 'nosotras'.
When you see a list of names that includes 'y yo' ('and I'), you must use a form of 'we'. Example: 'Carlos, María y yo' becomes 'Nosotros'.
The Gender Rule for Groups
Nosotras/Ellas = All girls. Nosotros/Ellos = All boys OR a mix of boys and girls.
