Grammar Rules & Patterns

Using 'El' for 'the' (Masculine) El + animal name Use 'el' before most animal names that end in '-o'. Think of 'el' as a word for boy animals. Using 'La' for 'the' (Feminine) La + animal name Use 'la' before some animal names, like those ending in '-a'. Think of 'la' as a word for girl animals.
