Asking Where Something Is
¿Dónde está + el/la + [animal]?
To ask where an animal is, always start with '¿Dónde está?'. Then, add 'el' or 'la' and the animal's name.
Answering Where Something Is
El/La + [animal] + está + [preposition] + el/la + [lugar].
To answer, start with the animal. Then use 'está' and a location word like 'en', 'sobre', or 'debajo de'.
Using 'el' and 'la'
Use 'el' for masculine nouns (like 'perro'). Use 'la' for feminine nouns (like 'tortuga').
Listen to how the word ends. Many words ending in '-o' use 'el'. Many words ending in '-a' use 'la'.
