Picture Rule
Draw dots or pictures for each group.
When you hear a number story, draw pictures for the first group. Then draw pictures for the second group. Count all your pictures to find the total.
Number Sentence Rule
Part + Part = Whole
A number sentence shows the story with numbers. The first number is a part. The second number is a part. The answer is the whole group.
