Adding Two Integers with the Same Sign
`a + b = |a| + |b|` if `a > 0` and `b > 0`.
`a + b = -( |a| + |b| )` if `a < 0` and `b < 0`.
To add two integers with the same sign (both positive or both negative), add their absolute values. The sum will have the same sign as the original integers.
Adding Two Integers with Different Signs
`a + b = \text{sign of the integer with the greater absolute value} \times ( |a| - |b| )`, where `a` and `b` have different signs.
To add two integers with different signs (one positive and one negative), subtract the smaller absolute value from the larger absolute value. The sum will take the sign of the integer that had the larger absolute value.
