Core Formulas

Converting from Standard Form to Expanded Form ABC = (A \times 100) + (B \times 10) + (C \times 1) To change a number from standard form to expanded form, you find the value of each digit and write it as an addition sentence. For 543, the 5 is worth 500, the 4 is worth 40, and the 3 is worth 3. So, 543 = 500 + 40 + 3. Converting from Expanded Form to Standard Form (A \times 100) + (B \times 10) + (C \times 1) = ABC To change a number from expanded form to standard form, you add the values together. The easiest way is to use the digits from each value to build the number. For 500 + 40 + 3, you take the 5, the 4, and the 3 to make the number 543.
