Grammar Rules & Patterns

Pattern 1: The Basic FormulaRule: To form the present conditional, you use the same stem as the future simple tense and add the endings from the imperfect tense. Formula: Future simple stem + imperfect endings (-ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez, -aient).For most verbs ending in -er and -ir, the stem is just the infinitive (the 'to' form of the verb).
