The Rhyming Rule Rhyming words have the same ending sound. Listen to the end of a word. Find another word with that same sound. The Word Family Rule Change the first letter to make a new word. Take an -at word like 'cat'. Change the /c/ to /b/. Now you have 'bat'! Listen to the End Your ears 👂 are your best rhyming tools! Don't worry about how a word looks. Just listen to how it sounds at the end.
