This rule helps ensure that your reader immediately understands what your modifier is describing. If a modifier is too far away, it might accidentally seem to describe something else, leading to confusion.
The 'Clear Subject' Rule for Dangling Modifiers
Ensure that a phrase acting as a modifier at the beginning of a sentence clearly and logically describes the subject that immediately follows it. If it doesn't, you must either add the correct subject or rewrite the sentence.
