Key Rules & Conventions
The Add -s Rule
Singular Noun + s = Plural Noun
This is the most common rule. For most nouns, you simply add the letter 's' to the end of the word to make it plural.
The Add -es Rule
Singular Noun ending in s, x, z, ch, sh + es = Plural Noun
When a singular noun ends with a hissing or buzzing sound (like s, x, z, ch, sh), you add 'es' to the end. This makes the word easier to say.
