The Word Addition Rule
Picture 1 + Picture 2 = Compound Word
Look at the first picture and say its name. Look at the second picture and say its name. Then, say the two words together without a space in between to form the new compound word.
The Meaning Check Rule
Meaning of Word 1 + Meaning of Word 2 ≈ Meaning of New Word
After you make a new compound word, think about what it means. A 'lighthouse' is a house with a giant light. The meaning of the new word should make sense based on its parts.
