The Naming Rule If a word names something you can see or touch, it is a noun. Use this rule to test if a word is a noun. Can you touch a 'table'? Yes! 'Table' is a noun. The 'A' or 'The' Clue Nouns often come after the words 'a', 'an', or 'the'. Look for these small words. They are clues! In 'the car', 'car' is the noun. 🚗
