The Noun Helper Rule
Adjective + Noun
Use an adjective to tell more about a person, place, or thing.
The Verb Helper Rule
Verb + Adverb
Use an adverb to tell more about an action. It often answers 'how?'
The -ly Trick
Adjective + ly = Adverb
Many adverbs are made by adding -ly to an adjective. (slow -> slowly)
