The 'Doing' Word Rule
A sentence needs a 'doing' word (an action verb).
Use this rule to make sure your sentence is complete. The verb tells us what is happening.
The 'Who Did It?' Rule
The action verb tells what the person, place, or thing does.
First, find who the sentence is about (like 'the boy'). Then, find the word that says what the boy does (like 'kicks').
