The Magic 's' Rule noun + s = more than one To talk about more than one thing, we usually add an 's' to the end of the word. The Picture Matching Rule One item = word with no 's'. More than one item = word with an 's'. Look at the picture first. Count the items. Then, find the word that matches how many you see. The 'es' Rule for Hissing Sounds noun ending in ch, sh, s, x, z + es If a word ends with a hissing sound, add 'es' to make it plural. Like one `box` 📦 becomes two `boxes` 📦📦.
