Subjunctive with Doubt/Uncertainty
TRIGGER (Doubt/Denial) + que + SUBORDINATE CLAUSE (Verb in Subjunctive)
When the main clause expresses doubt, denial, or uncertainty (e.g., 'Dudo que', 'No creo que', 'Es posible que'), the verb in the clause that follows 'que' must be in the subjunctive mood.
Indicative with Certainty
TRIGGER (Certainty) + que + SUBORDINATE CLAUSE (Verb in Indicative)
Conversely, when the main clause expresses certainty or belief (e.g., 'Creo que', 'Sé que', 'Es verdad que'), the verb in the clause that follows 'que' is in the indicative mood.
