Estar + Preposición de Lugar
Subject + estar (conjugated) + preposition + location reference.
To describe the location of something or someone, always use the verb 'estar', not 'ser'. 'Estar' is for temporary states and locations. For example, 'El perro está debajo de la mesa' (The dog is under the table).

Many prepositions of place are followed by 'de'. (encima de, debajo de, al lado de, etc.)
Don't forget to include 'de' after the main preposition word. It connects the preposition to the object you are referencing. Think of it as the word 'of' in English phrases like 'on top of'.
