The verb 'querer' is a special 'boot verb'. The 'e' in the middle changes to 'ie' for 'yo', 'tú', and 'él/ella'. Notice how the endings are different for each person!
Forming a 'Want' Sentence
Subject (like Yo) + Form of 'querer' (like quiero) + Thing you want (like un regalo).
To say what someone wants, start with who is wanting, add the correct form of 'querer', and then say what they want. For example, 'Yo quiero un videojuego'.
