Introduction & Learning Objectives

Learning Objectives Identify an object that is different from others in a small group based on one attribute (like color or type). Sort a small collection of objects into 'same' and 'different' groups. Count the number of 'same' items and 'different' items in a group of up to 10 objects. Explain why an object is different using simple language (e.g., 'This one is blue, the others are red'). Understand that picking the one 'different' object is less likely than picking an object from the 'same' group. Point to the group that has 'more' items and the one that has 'less' items. Look at this group of friends! 🐢🐢🐢🐱. Can you spot the one that is different? We will learn how to find thing...

Core Formulas

The 'One' Rule 1 item is different = Less Likely to be picked When you see only one of something in a big group, it's the special, different one. It's harder to grab without looking! The 'More' Rule More items are the same = More Likely to be picked When you see lots of things that are the same, it's easier to grab one of them. You are more likely to pick one from the big group!
