Core Formulas
Converting Fraction to Decimal
$ ext{Fraction} = \frac{\text{Numerator}}{\text{Denominator}} = \text{Numerator} \div \text{Denominator}$
To change a fraction into its decimal equivalent, divide the numerator by the denominator. This makes it easier to compare with other decimals.
Converting Mixed Number to Decimal
$ ext{Mixed Number} = \text{Whole Number} + (\text{Numerator} \div \text{Denominator})$
To convert a mixed number to a decimal, first convert the fractional part to a decimal, then add it to the whole number. This gives a single decimal value for comparison.
Comparing Decimals
Line up the decimal points. Compare digits from left to right, starting with the largest place value. If $0.A_1 A_2 A_3$ and $0.B_1 B_2 B_3$, compare $A_1$ to $B_1$, then $A_2$ to $B_2$...
