Addend + Addend = Sum
This is the pattern for every addition sentence. Put one part, then the plus sign, then the other part. Then, add the equal sign and the total (or a question mark if you need to find it).
The Order Rule (Commutative Property)
a + b = b + a
You can switch the addends around, and the sum will stay the same! 120 + 50 is the same as 50 + 120. Isn't that cool? ✨
