Start Big, End Small
Quarters → Dimes → Nickels → Pennies
When counting mixed coins, always start with the coin that has the biggest value first. This makes counting easier!
Total Value Addition
Total ¢ = (Value of Coin 1) + (Value of Coin 2) + ...
To find the total amount, you add the value of each coin together. Keep a running total in your head or on paper.
