Core Formulas
Addition Equation
Part + Part = Whole
We add one small group (a part) to another small group (a part) to find the big group (the whole).
Counting On Strategy
Start with the bigger number, then count up.
To solve 9 + 5, put 9 in your head 🧠. Then count 5 more on your fingers: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14.
Order Doesn't Matter
a + b = b + a
You can switch the numbers around and still get the same sum. 7 + 8 is the same as 8 + 7.
