The Hook
What if failing was a required step for success? For entrepreneurs, it often is. Most people think starting a business requires a brilliant, world-changing idea and a lot of money. The Story
Elijah, 19, was convinced his idea for custom phone cases was a winner. He spent his savings to buy 200 blank cases, confident he could sell them all. After a month of trying, he had only sold 12. He was left with 188 cases, no savings, and a heavy feeling of failure. He almost gave up. Instead, he tried a different approach. He created digital mockups of new designs and posted them online. This time, he only ordered a case from his supplier after a customer paid him first. He sold 50 in the next month with zero inventory risk. The first failure taught him the most important lesson in business: validate demand before you invest your money.
