The trick is learning to stop seeing a competitor and start looking for a partner.

Have you ever heard the term zero-sum game? It’s a situation where for one person to gain something, another person has to lose it. Think of a pizza: if I take a slice, there’s one less slice for you. Simple. The problem is, we often treat situations that aren't zero-sum like they are.Most of life is a positive-sum game, where it’s possible to create more value for everyone. This requires a different mindset. It felt like a competition she had to win. But then she paused.
