The Hook

Your password is like the key to your online house. You wouldn't give your house key to just anyone, right? You also wouldn't use the same key for your house, your bike lock, and your secret diary. But online, lots of people use the same easy-to-guess "key" for everything. In fact, the password "123456" is still one of the most common in the world. The Story

Priya loved her online game. Her password for it was "puppylove." It was also her password for her school website. It was easy to remember. She told her best friend, just in case. But her friend accidentally mentioned it to someone else. The next day, Priya logged in and all her hard-earned game coins were gone. Someone had used them to buy items she didn't want. She felt awful. She told her mom what happened. Her mom wasn't mad. Instead, they sat down together and created a new password just for the game: "ThreeBlueFishSinging." It was their secret, and it was much stronger. Priya learned that some secrets are safest when only you and your parents know them.
