1. Using 'The' with PlanetsRule: In French, planets usually take a definite article—a word for 'the' like le [luh], la [lah], or l' [l]—when we talk about them. Most planet names are feminine. la Terre (the Earth) [lah TAIR], la Lune (the Moon) [lah LOON], Vénus (Venus) [vay-NOOS], Mars (Mars) [MARS], Jupiter (Jupiter) [zhoo-pee-TAIR], Saturne (Saturn) [sa-TOORN]Note: While grammatically feminine, articles are often omitted for planets other than Earth and the Moon in simple sentences, but it's good practice to know their gender.2.
