The Relative Pronoun 'dont'Rule: We use dont (of which/that) [dohn] to replace a part of a sentence introduced by the preposition 'de' (of/from) [duh] (like in 'parler de' (to talk about), 'avoir besoin de' (to need), 'être fier de' (to be proud of), etc.) or to show possession. It connects two sentences, so you don't have to repeat words.Example: C'est le livre (This is the book). Je t'ai parlé de ce livre (I talked to you about this book). → C'est le livre dont je t'ai parlé (This is the book that I talked to you about).2.
