Identify the Agent
Find who or what is performing the action in the passive sentence. This is often in a 'by' phrase.
Before you can rewrite, you must know who or what is actually doing the work. If there's no 'by' phrase, you might need to infer a general agent (e.g., 'someone,' 'we,' 'they').
Make the Agent the New Subject
Move the identified agent to the beginning of the sentence, making it the new subject.
The performer of the action should be the star of your active sentence. Place it at the front to emphasize its role.
