Place modifiers as close as possible to the word or phrase they are intended to modify.
When a modifier is separated from the word it describes, it can accidentally modify another word, creating a confusing or humorous meaning. Always check that your modifier is next to what it's actually describing.
The Clear Subject Rule for Dangling Modifiers
Ensure that the word or phrase a dangling modifier is meant to describe is clearly stated as the subject of the main clause, or rewrite the sentence to include it.
