Key Rules & Conventions

The City, State Rule City, State Always place a comma between the name of a city and the name of a state or country. The 'Comma After' Rule City, State, rest of the sentence. If the city and state (or country) appear in the middle of a sentence, you must also place a comma AFTER the state (or country). The Address Rule Street Address, City, State ZipCode In a full address, use a comma between the city and state. Do not put a comma between the state and the zip code.
