The Three-Line Format
Line 1: Recipient's Full Name
Line 2: Street Address
Line 3: City, State ZIP Code
Always write the address in this specific order. Each part gets its own line to make it neat and easy for the mail carrier to read.
Capitals and Commas Rule
Capitalize the first letter of the recipient's name, the street name, the city, and the state. Always place a comma between the city and the state.
Using capital letters for important words (proper nouns) and adding a comma in the right spot are like traffic signals for your mail. They prevent confusion and help it get delivered smoothly.
