The Teamwork Rule Input -> Process -> Output This is the path information takes in a computer. You give an INPUT (like a mouse click), the CPU will PROCESS it (think about it), and you see the result as an OUTPUT (on the screen). The Two Memories Rule RAM is for 'Right Now', Hard Drive is for 'Later'. Use this to remember the difference. RAM is fast but forgets when the power is off. The Hard Drive saves things for a long, long time. The Connection Rule All parts connect to the Motherboard. For any part to work, it must be plugged into the motherboard. The motherboard is what lets the 'brain' (CPU) talk to the 'memory' (RAM) and everything else.
